Eat Stop Eat method
The Eat Stop Eat method is a versatile and simple technique intended to drastically improve any dietary or weight maintenance routine. Keeping in mind that one pound of fat consists of 3500 calories, you must burn at least this amount per week to lose 1+lbs of fat.
Over the course of a week, this calorie deficit can be created in a variety of ways (500 calories per day of seven days, 700 calories a day over 5 days, etc) Because we have been conditioned to constantly consume food however, the problem with most diets is fighting the natural impulse to cheat.
The Eat Stop Eat Method addresses this concern through one to three short, twenty four hour fasts. By simply eliminating food and food related concerns for a twenty four hour period, the calorie deficit normally achieved over seven days is suddenly created in two, allowing you to eat normally five days per week without pressure.
Program Summary:
• Choose non-consecutive days per week to conduct your twenty four hour fast
• You will begin fasting from 6 pm on day one to 6 pm of the following day. If the need arises to change your plans, this can be done for any twenty four hour period.
• During your fast, you can drink water, coffee or any other non-caloric beverage.
Non-fast day guidelines:
• In order to maintain metabolism, it is important to eat at least your basal metabolism in order to keep the body from moving in to starvation mode!!!
• For an individual whose basal metabolism is 2000 for example, consuming zero calories on two days will equal a whooping 4000 calorie (or 1lbs of fat) deficit!
• To preserve muscle, consume 1-2+ scoops of protein powder after your workout. To preserve muscle and avoid hunger, also consume 3-5 BCAA (Branch Chain Amino Cid) and Fish Oil pills with breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Fasting days guidelines:
• In order to keep things simple, we recommend choosing consistent days and times for your fasting.
• Your fasting will begin at 6 pm on day one and end at 6 pm the following day. This twenty four hour split is versatile and can be done in a similar fashion for any hour to suit your schedule.
• To avoid thinking about food, choose of non-workout days which are busy to keep you occupied.
• To preserve muscle and avoid hunger, also consume 3-5 BCAA (Branch Chain Amino Cid) and Fish Oil pills with breakfast, lunch and dinner.
